Therapy is an investment in yourself, and while many of us readily pay the doctor, spend money on our children and take care of our bills, we tend to feel guilty about spending money on ourselves. HSPs can have a tendency to put others’ needs before their own needs.
I absolutely get it. But you owe it to yourself! You deserve it! If you don’t take care of yourself now, you won’t be able to continue caring for those who need you and love you. I learned this the hard way and I can teach you the tools to manage it all better AND feel good about yourself at the same!
What are your fees?
$175 for an initial assessment and $125 for a 50 minute session.
What exactly am I paying for?
You will feel heard and accepted AND you will take away tools and strategies to manage your life in a way that leaves you feeling empowered and in control!
I employ a highly individualized approach with each client that takes into consideration one’s unique needs, goals and circumstances. My therapeutic style is supportive and strengths-based.
I have been trained in and I utilize a variety of evidence-based counseling methods, including cognitive therapy, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, cognitive processing therapy and mindfulness.
Do you have lower fee slots?
Yes! I offer a number of low-fee slots because I understand that not everyone can afford my full fee. Please check with me to see if I have any open slots.
Do you take insurance?
I accept Medicare (straight Medicare, not managed—like Coventry Advantra or Railroad).
If you have other insurance, I am happy to provide you with a form that you can send to your insurance for possible reimbursement. This means that you are responsible for payment when we have our session, and depending on your plan, a certain percentage of that may be paid to you by your insurance company.
I encourage you to call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your “out of network” benefits are. Please be sure to ask about deductibles, because these can often be quite high. Ask them where to send the “superbill” – that’s what the form I will give you is called. You will then need to send the superbill to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
When submitting a superbill, I am required to provide a mental health diagnosis. If you have questions about this, please bring it up when we speak.
How can I pay?
All fees are due on the day of the session or before. Payments can be made by exact cash, check or by credit card.
There are benefits to using your out-of-network coverage. There is greater flexibility in choosing the best therapist for you, a higher level of privacy/confidentiality, and you will not be limited to a certain number of sessions. We will also try to assist you to make the out-of-network claims process as easy as possible.
Also note that for some individuals, it may be advantageous to pay for mental health services out-of-pocket (i.e., without going through your insurance company). We are not required to release information about your treatment or medical records to an insurance company when you pay out of pocket. This offers the highest level of privacy/ confidentiality. This can also be a particularly important benefit for individuals whose employers require them to disclose any record of mental health issues.
Cancellation Policy
24 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancelling an appointment unless due to illness or an emergency. The full fee will be charged for sessions missed without such notification.
